30k apoc

Sam here. Today Jamie From Six Up Save hosted a 30k apocalypse game at Worcester wargames. The mission was simple, at the end of your movement place a flag on a piece of terrain you are on. Red for traitors, blue for loyalist. At the end of the game he who has the most flags wins. Only 6 people could attend in the end but it was a lot of fun. Here were the players Sam with his Iron Warriors Jamie with his Blood Angels Damien with his Word Bearers Dave with his mechanicum Mike with his Death Guard Andy with his Ultrasmurfs We each brought 4K and deployed dawn of war style on a 12 foot table. The terrain was split into wasteland either side of a city.             Traitors got turn one and began to rain fore down upon the enemy.    By the end of turn two all knights bar the atrapos were dead and the real fighting could begin!   The Archeron and Paladin having a high five of death!   Turn three saw a lot of combat, with primarchs hitting squ...

Tomb stalker

Sam here, been playing a few games to get my friend Josh into the hobby recently. Not 100% accurate with the rules but here are some pics of what his fw tomb stalker got up to.                                                                                                                       For combat models should have been moved down. But would have been a shame to waste such a golden photo opportunit...

Legiones Astartes of the IV legion. The Iron Warriors

Hey guys Sam here. Wanted to showcase my horus heresy army which I have been working on since selling my salamanders last january.  So to start off here is my preator. I used a non forgeworld model for this and am pleased with the result. I plan on running him in terminator armour with the warsmith rule and a paragon blade. Next is my tac squad, I do not like painting tac squads, I have two squads of 10 which I will use but due to the onslauht detachment normally use only one. In game I prefer to use veterans and support squads. Now onto elites, my favourite part of the army really. I like running dreadnoughts. Lots of them. The ams are magnetised to take all options but my favourite load out is both fists with melta guns in drop pods.  Also i have two contemptor mortis dreadnoughts. I run one with kheres and one with lascannons. These are also magnetised and can be taken with fists. Two terminator squads as well. One with lightning claws, one with chainfist and bolter. I have...

30K army and first outing for the iron warriors

Hey guys, Sam here wanting to share a little about the progress of my iron warriors and my first heresy game in 6 months! About a year ago I began collecting a pre-heresy Salamander army. I Enjoyed playing it and took it to a few events. Then I read Angel Exterminatus, Iron Warriors omnibus and Storm of Iron. This persuaded me to abandon the green armoured emperor loving pansies and begin a legion with real metal! in the words of The D: "you can't kill the metal!" Iron Warriors really appealed to me because they struck me as a legion which could be used for dual purpose as well as having a lot of components that I like. I run these as chaos marines as well as pre heresy marines. Their pragmatism and seige warfare is cool as well as them being undivided, so I can run them with either daemon army :) So my army as it stands is around 6000 points with Perturabo (next order) and I am nearly at the end of a collection. There are a few units here and there but ...
