Legiones Astartes of the IV legion. The Iron Warriors

Hey guys Sam here.
Wanted to showcase my horus heresy army which I have been working on since selling my salamanders last january.

So to start off here is my preator. I used a non forgeworld model for this and am pleased with the result. I plan on running him in terminator armour with the warsmith rule and a paragon blade.
Next is my tac squad, I do not like painting tac squads, I have two squads of 10 which I will use but due to the onslauht detachment normally use only one. In game I prefer to use veterans and support squads.
Now onto elites, my favourite part of the army really. I like running dreadnoughts. Lots of them. The ams are magnetised to take all options but my favourite load out is both fists with melta guns in drop pods.

Also i have two contemptor mortis dreadnoughts. I run one with kheres and one with lascannons.
These are also magnetised and can be taken with fists.
Two terminator squads as well. One with lightning claws, one with chainfist and bolter. I have pinned cyclone missile launchers on the chain fist ones to run tyrant seige terminators until forge world release a model.
I also have three rapier laser destroyers

My current single fast attack is a lightning strike fighter. Usually ran with kraken missiles for anti spartan / knight shooting" I do tend to run with one pair of sunfury to kill marines as well.

Heavy support now
First up my most recent unit. Four castellax battle automina with my centurian praevian. Narik
My fire raptor
My predators which have had converted plasma destroyers. (They are one of my next orders)

My spartan assault tank which usually carries terminators and will be perturabos ride until the shadowsword is aquired.
My iron havocs with lascannons.

Lords of war
I have a typhon heavy seige tank, lascannon sponsons are magnetised as not in picture.
My imperial knight. Magnetised at feet, waist, shoulders and end of gun for modifications and mobility.

Thats all for now folks.
Got perturabo in the post. Looking forward to painting him!
Infantry units to get next
Support squad with melta
Missile launcher havocs
Also getting a few more tanks before I call my army complete
Choosing between
Basilisks
Medusas
Whirlwind scorpios
Sicarian

Keep a look out on the page for jamies write up about our istaan style game last wednesday involving 10000 points of heresy and three primarchs!!!

Confessions of a Warhammer Wife

Confessions of a Warhammer Wife Bruce’s obsession with Warhammer was only revealed to me during our second year of dating. We had been together a long time by then – had even lived together for the majority of that time while at University. And still I didn’t know about this one aspect of Bruce’s nerd-dom. When Bruce and I first began dating I was fully aware of – even besotted by - his nerdy credentials. Together we had played hours of Halo 3 and Mario Kart, swapped manga and even visited the cinema for a solo late night screening of Star Trek. Yet this did not prepare me for what would become one of his main loves in life. It all started back in 2012. We had been living separately back at our parents’ homes after University – me in Yorkshire, he in Worcester. I would often travel down to visit him and on one such occasion I was told of a new friend Bruce had made through work. Damien. They had apparently bonded when Bruce had taken on old model – a Tyranid Warrior I beli...

Worcester Wargames 40K Doubles .

It's that time of year again! The Six Up Save lads are painting last mintue details and packing our carry cases in preparation for another one of Worcester Wargames awesome local Tournaments . This years contest comes with a twist; the doubles teams will be paired up at random! From what we are given to understand Andy (the TO) is pairing people up with respective armies (Imperium with Imperium, Orks with Orks etc) but we wont know exactly who our teammates are until the morning of the Tourney. The day will consist of 3 games, one person on each team will be playing Maelstrom objectives and his teammate will be playing for standard objectives on the same board, so it will be an interesting mix up of normal game rules. I'm taking my Redeemer's, but due to lack of time / laziness I'm just taking the exact same list as my Six Up Save League. It's hardley optimised for competitive gameplay, but its fun, fluffy and means I don't have to stress about painting any...

Games Workshop's Live Q&A; Thoughts On 8th Edition.

Hey guys, it's Bruce here with our first blog update in a long old while. If you are reading this blog, chances are you know a thing or two about tabletop games, so you probably know that GW just officially confirmed what we all knew was coming: a new edition of Warhammer 40k! I sat down this afternoon and watched GW's amazing live Q&A session and I've made notes on all the big changes they have confirmed will come with the new edition. Lets take a look: Big image behind the two hosts (Pete Foley, heading the team behind 8th ed and Andy Smilie, the head of the community team) is a large space marine helmet, blue on one side and green on the other. Probably hinting at the Ultramarine / Deathguard starter set ? Andy repeatedly mentions that a huge amount of the rules have been created using feedback from the Facebook page and online forums like Bolter and Chainsword / Dakkadakka etc.   Movement is changing. No longer blanket ruling different types of...
