Echoes of War

Hello everyone, Sam here with a write up on another awesome weekend of dice and fun in Cardiff. Our hosts for the weekend, the Vale Renegades  are a group that we met over a year ago at a tournament in Bristol and since then have attended several of each other’s tournaments. Echoes of War was an ITC event with 34 competitors at the fantastic venue of Firestorm Games. This post is going to have a brief overview of the day as well as a few pictures and synopsis of all 5 games that I had over the weekend. So Sam, Bruce, Chris, Jamie and Jack were joined by Jack’s brother Scott (making them the Brothers Grimdark), Tom Baker from Code40K and Battered Bristles ( http://code40k.blogspot.co.uk/ ) ( https://www.facebook.com/Batteredbristles ) and Ian, made the 2 hour or so drive down to Cardiff for a weekend of games. A few of us had been to their last tournament Seeds of Destruction last September and were very excited about returning. Prior to the event, the Vale Renegades shared...

First the worst, second the best. Part I

Hi readers, Sam here talking about a good but of fun me and Damien are having with each others armies. The other week Damien challenged me to write the worst list that I could using one of my armies (chaos marines being the obvious choice here) whilst he does the same thing with one of his (orks). Then we both swap armies and see what happens. I thought this was a great idea and the following game developed. Now this is part one of the game analysis and mini batreps with us doing the complete oposite in a few weeks. Writing the best lists with the same armies and swapping again. I hope you enjoy reading this post and if you would like to see more like this then please let us know. Sam's chaos space marine list Now I wanted to sink as many points into the army as I could. Therefore every unit has mark of slaanesh and veterans of the long war. Hq Abbadon the despoiler Chaos lord Slaanesh Black mace Murder sword Sigil of corruption Aura of dark glory Sp...

Six Up Save visits Bristol Vanguard Vanquish 2016

As some of you may have seen on our Facebook page recently, 7 out of 10 members of Six Up Save plus our good friend, Jack Whitefoot, made the trip down to Bristol for Vanquish 2016. Sam's Chaos versus Eldar 5 of us plus Jack were there for both days, while Cat and Matt joined us on the Sunday. Bruce ran Necrons, Sam ran Chaos, Charles (Beast) ran Farsight Enclave, Cat ran Eldar, Matt ran Dark Eldar and finally Damien, Paul and Jack ran Orks. Bruce's Necrons during Game 2 We had mixed results with Sam finishing in a respectable 15th place, Paul won Most Sporting and in a rare change of pace, Cat got the Wooden Spoon instead of our regular Spoon Winner, Paul. Paul's award for Most Sporting Overall we had a great weekend, playing some fantastic games against like-minded people and fantastically painted armies. (Felt quite embarrassed some of my army were only single colours) This was my first tournament away from Worcester and the games I played have made me...

Escape From Eidolon

-A Warhammer 40K doubles tournament- -Sunday 14 th August 2016- -1000 points per player (2000 per team)- -St Swithuns hall- The Trinity Worcester WR1 2PN Due to the nature of the event, all armies within a team will be Allies of Convenience regardless of their entries in the Rulebook. No Armies will therefore be ‘Battle Brothers’, ‘Desperate Allies’ or ‘Come the Apocalypse’. We wish to encourage a friendly atmosphere at the tournament; we would like to discourage people from bringing lists that are geared without enjoyment in mind. We want you to bring your ‘A’ game but we do not want you to be fielding ‘death star’ type units. Therefore we reserve the rights to return a list if we feel it is overwhelmingly over powered and ask that it be adjusted All players can field either a single Combined Arms Detachment or single Detachment from their Army Codices i.e. Craftworld Warhost/Decurion Detachment/Realspace Raiders Detachment etc. All Armies must ...

Back to basics

Hey guys Sam here, apologies if the post is short, new job taking most of my time this week. So last weekend Six Up Save hosted their second tournament with the help of Andy from Worcester Wargames. The day was a lot of fun and thank you all for attending. We enjoy running these events and hope to do a lot more in the future.  Everyone who attended was friendly and brought with them a real sporting attitude towards the day which made it a pleasure to run. So onto the scores, on the day I announced first second and third places, here is the results table. Big congratulations to Scott, Pete and Jack for winning the tournament. Eldar, tyranids and orks in the top three :) Commiserations to Paul for winning the spoon. (He wanted it really) The painting competition is also a big highlight for any event that we run, it is always impressive what some people can do with this hobby and people really brought their A game. Here are some of the pictures of the entri...
