Legiones Astartes of the IV legion. The Iron Warriors

Hey guys Sam here. Wanted to showcase my horus heresy army which I have been working on since selling my salamanders last january.  So to start off here is my preator. I used a non forgeworld model for this and am pleased with the result. I plan on running him in terminator armour with the warsmith rule and a paragon blade. Next is my tac squad, I do not like painting tac squads, I have two squads of 10 which I will use but due to the onslauht detachment normally use only one. In game I prefer to use veterans and support squads. Now onto elites, my favourite part of the army really. I like running dreadnoughts. Lots of them. The ams are magnetised to take all options but my favourite load out is both fists with melta guns in drop pods.  Also i have two contemptor mortis dreadnoughts. I run one with kheres and one with lascannons. These are also magnetised and can be taken with fists. Two terminator squads as well. One with lightning claws, one with chainfist and bolter. I have...

Doubles Tourny

Sam here with quick game analysis from the tourny yesterday. The day was hosted by Andy and Mike (Worcester Wargames and Code 40K) and consisted of three games throughout the day. After submitting lists, we were paired with people who had a similar faction to us. 8 of the Six Up guys were there and we all had a great time. My first game was against two people who had not been playing an awful lot of 7th edition and ran Guard and Space Marines. My Predators plasma made short work of the Marine players Terminators and the combined efforts of myself and Ben's Chaos Rhinos full of men cut through the Guard. The game ended fairly close due to an unlikely set of saving throws against the marine holding the relic. Hate storm shields! Haha! Nevertheless, a win is a win and they were fun to play against. Game two was by far the most fun against Tau that I have ever had, and the most successful. My Fire Raptor tore through crisis teams but we could not do more than dent the three...

Worcester Wargames 40K Doubles .

It's that time of year again! The Six Up Save lads are painting last mintue details and packing our carry cases in preparation for another one of Worcester Wargames awesome local Tournaments . This years contest comes with a twist; the doubles teams will be paired up at random! From what we are given to understand Andy (the TO) is pairing people up with respective armies (Imperium with Imperium, Orks with Orks etc) but we wont know exactly who our teammates are until the morning of the Tourney. The day will consist of 3 games, one person on each team will be playing Maelstrom objectives and his teammate will be playing for standard objectives on the same board, so it will be an interesting mix up of normal game rules. I'm taking my Redeemer's, but due to lack of time / laziness I'm just taking the exact same list as my Six Up Save League. It's hardley optimised for competitive gameplay, but its fun, fluffy and means I don't have to stress about painting any...

Black Maru's Order of Redemption.

Hey guys, Bruce here with the first of (what I hope to be) many short snippets of background, history and goofy fluff pieces for my Blood Angel successor Chapter, "The Redeemers" aka "Black Maru's Order of Redemption". I'll start off by highlighting some of the key characters, mostly HQ's that play a big part both on the tabletop and in the ongoing story linking my games / campaigns together.  The Redeemers are a successor Chapter of the Blood Angels, although they are a chapter in a very loose sense. Due to the way Black Maru (who we will discuss in further detail shortly) chooses to organize the Marines under his commend, The Redeemers are only considered a chapter for the sake of record keeping at the Adaptus Administratum. Internally referred to as an Order rather than a Chapter, The Redeemers are almost unheard of, partly due to the secrecy of their mission, but primarily because they have never done anything especially noteworthy or noble.  The...

Six Up Save!

Welcome to the Six Up Save Blog! We are a small group of lads from the West Midlands in the UK who paint, model and play tabletop wargames. As a group we cover several systems, Batman Knight Minis, Starwars Armarda, Deadman's Hand but our main focus is currently Warhammer 40,000. This blog will (hopefully) follow our exploits across inter-group leagues, local and national tournaments as well as taking a focused look at our armies, list building guides, painting tips and neat conversion ideas. To start off, let's take a look at our current member roster and their chosen armies: Bruce  - Blood Angels, Tyranids and Chaos Marines Damien  - Orks, White Scars and Khorne Daemonkin Sam  - Nurgle Daemons, Tzeentch Daemons and Chaos Undivided / 30K Iron Warriors Matt  - Iron hands/Clan Raukaan and Dark Eldar Stone - Necrons and Tzeentch Daemons Jamie - Space Wolves and Orks Charles - Tyranids Martin -...
